Obituary of Agnes Ruth Kortright

Agnes Ruth Kortright, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She was 92.  

She was the Daughter of the late Bruce J and Ella Moore of Hasbrouck, NY.  

Agnes and her Husband, Clifford, were married for 68 years.  They owned and operated a dairy farm in Neversink for 39 years and retired in 1983.    

She enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, spending time in the woods, geocaching, traveling, visiting with friends, ice skating, snowmobiling and local history.  She and her husband enjoyed Old Tyme Fiddle music and were followers of the Del-Se-Nango Old Tyme Fiddle Association and of the Fred Williams Old Time Fiddlers.  

She was the author of two books; Old Neversink and Surroundings and One and Two Room Schoolhouses of the Tri-Valley School District.    

She was a former member/Treasurer of the Fallsburg-Neversink (Velie) Cemetery Association and honorary member of the Hunter Road Hunting club and the Aden Night Riders Snowmobile Club.

Survivors include four children all of Parksville:  Barbara Gorman, Earl (Butch) Kortright and his wife Donna, Kathleen Akerley and her husband Herbert and Patricia Lamb; Ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.  

She is also survived by her sister-in-laws Joan Moore, Doris Kortright, Myrtle Kortright, Joan Kortright, Brother-in-law Sherman Kortright and wife Violet; as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was predeceased by her husband (of 68 years) and 4 Sibblings; Helen Exner and Husband Bernard, Fred Moore, Nora Stewart and Husband Jay and Janet Smith and Husband Gene. Son in law William Lamb and 2 infant grandchildren, Michael and Ruth.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery State Route 55 Grahamsville, NY at 11:00am. with Pastor King officiating.
