Obituary of Curtis Andre Luster

Curtis Andre Luster, formerly of South Fallsburg, NY passed away from this life suddenly at his home in Elmira, NY on April 17, 2016. Born June 29, 1964 in Middletown, NY he is the son of Curtis Ray Luster and Alberta Patterson Luster. Curtis A. Luster graduated from Fallsburg Central High School, Class of 82 and graduated from Sullivan County Community College in 1991. He continued his education at Stony Brook, Long Island in International Studies Hispanic Language and Literature. Curtis joined First Baptist Church, South Fallsburg at an early age and was a very active member, singing in the Jr. Choir until he relocated. Upon leaving South Fallsburg, he joined Calvary Love Church and is presently a member of Elmira Christian Center, Elmira, NY. Curtis traveled extensively with his church family while doing missionary work in the following countries: Holland, Columbia, Ecuador, and Guatemala. He worked with Time Warner Cable for many years until the company relocated to California. Presently, until his passing, Curtis worked with the Elmira Christian Center. While we are saddened by the void left in our lives by his passing, we will be comforted by fond memories that strengthen the love Curtis surrounded us with, during his beautiful life. Curtis was an avid fisherman, loved people, especially the youth, enjoyed singing, and he was a part of the worship team, kids camp counselor. “Loving the family of God.” Curtis is survived by his loving parents Curtis Ray and Alberta Luster at home. Brother Brian Scott (Jacinta) Luster of Creedmoor, NC. One niece Jaren Renee Luster, and nephew Bray Scott Luster both of Creedmoor, NC. Three aunts, Alfrieda Jones- Highland Springs, VA; Betty Lee- Jemison, AL; Edith (Charles) Parkey- Clinton, TN. As well as a host of cousins and special friends. Two exceptional friends- Rev. David LeAndre of Elmira, NY and Troy Smalls of Rochester, NY. Curtis was predeceased by a sister Sherri Renee Luster. A celebration of Curtis’ life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Visitation is at 11am, and funeral service 12 noon at The First Baptist Church, 5258 Main Street, South Fallsburg, NY. Rev. David LeAndre of Elmira Christian Center and Rev. Charles McComb of First Baptist Church of Fallsburg will officiate.
