Obituary of Louise Magie

Louise Magie, of Loch Sheldrake, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 67. She was the daughter of the late Curtis Dischlatis and Rose Hollenback, born on January 24, 1951 in Fallsburg, NY. Louise spent her time as a homemaker, enjoying every minute particularly spending her time in the kitchen making meals for her family. She loved to cook so much that she even took an online course to learn other recipes and was never caught making the same recipe twice. One of her favorite things was to make the holidays special for her family, something that they could look back on with fond memories of everyone gathered around the table. When she wasn't in the kitchen she was a dedicated life member of the Loch Sheldrake Fire Department, where she was a valuable member in their kitchen as well. She also enjoyed crafting, knitting and gardening, specifically her roses, watching NASCAR, and hunting with her husband, her job was to dress the deer that they hunted. And on the weekends her and her husband would drive around to different yard sales to pass the time. She was dedicated to her family and making them all the best that they could be, she knew how to get you to do what you needed to do, even if you didn't want to do it. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her, she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her husband Robert W. Magie; her mother Rose Crispel; children Frank and his wife Rebecca and Angie and her husband Richie; grandchildren Leeann Roach, Ethan, Weston, Austin and Richie Shaver, Austin Magie, Tyler, Kenneth and Cheyenne Irwin, Kayla and Tyler Magie and Megan Bellemy; and great-grandson Collin Shaver. She is predeceased by her son Robert James Magie. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 3 to 7pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788.
