Charlie was born in the Bronx on November 21, 1935. As a youngster he was a ball boy at Yankee Stadium. He met the love of his life, Mildred, when they were both 20 and working for a company in Queens, NY. Charlie worked in construction for 20 years at places such as LaGuardia and JFK airports. After many hunting trips and wonderful summers spent in Livingston Manor, Charlie and Mildred moved their family there in 1975. He became Head of Maintenance at the Holiday Inn in Liberty for 10 years. During this time, he was also a Town Constable for the Town of Rockland. Charlie then became the Code and Zoning Enforcement Officer for the Village of Liberty (20 years), and the Town of Rockland (33 years). He was a Certified Home Inspector as well. He retired at age 76.
Charlie was so hardworking that he sometimes held three jobs, while still making sure to eat dinner with his family every night and take them for Sunday drives. Prior to his declining health he enjoyed hunting, fishing, walks in the woods, traveling the area's back roads, and mowing the grass. He was the past President of the LM Lion's Club and active in his community. Charlie was one to smile and wave to everyone in town. He was a selfless man that always put family first. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Thank you to "Millie and Charlie's Angels", caregivers Becky, Bonnie, Colleen, Dixie, Kathy, and Liz.
