Obituary of Nicholas F. Chalk

Nicholas F. Chalk, of Woodridge, passed away at home on Thursday, April 19, 2018. He was 64. He was the son of the late Nicholas A. and Marion McDowell Chalk, born on June 12, 1953 in Elmira, NY. Nicholas worked in law enforcement as a Correctional Officer and Counselor first for Elmira Correctional Facility and then for Woodbourne Correctional Facility. Nick was an avid reader and quite a linguist who loved a good game of Scrabble. He enjoyed traveling with friends and weekly casino trips with his dear friend Penny Erickson. Nick always looked forward to spending time target shooting with his friend Peter Chiavaro. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Barbara Jennings of Pine City, NY, son Nicholas L. Chalk of Acton, MA and 4 soon to be 5 lovely granddaughters. He is also survived by his sisters Carole Becker of Walworth, NY and Betty Pock of Surprise, AZ and his lifelong friend Paul Titus of Elmira, NY. At Nick's request services were held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be a celebration of his life held at a later date for all family and friends.
