Obituary of Lillian Robinson

Lillian Robinson of South Fallsburg went home to our lord on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at home with her family by her side. She was 88. She resided there for twelve years being cared for by her loving family after she became ill in 2010 refusing to be put in a nursing home. Lillian was one of seven children and was the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson and Marian Mighty born on September 12, 1929 in Jamaica, West Indies. She was the wife of Gilbert Robinson who went home to our lord on June 5, 2014. She was one of the nicest people around and was a big comedian that made her family and friends laugh till they "spread out like a carpet". She worked in Jamaica in the Pine fields. Her husband a farmer; lived in Cameron District. She took care of her family and was a very dedicated Mom. She migrated to the United States in the mid 80's. For a while she lived with her oldest daughter Cynthia Johnson and her family. She was always a hard dedicated worker. She worked at various different places; Murrays Chicken, Sullivan Diagnosis, Crystal Run, Browns Hotel, and the Pines Hotel. She took pride in her jobs and her home. She always made her home a warm and welcoming place for all to come and visit and it was always exceptionally clean people would often say you can "eat off her floors". She loved to dance, pamper herself and most importantly spend time with her family. She will be missed not just by her family and friends but by a love filled community, South Fallsburg, Monticello, Cameron District and Mandez District, St. Johns Road in Jamaica. She leaves behind to cherish her life her daughters, Shirlene, and Cynthia; her son-in-law, Bill; her siblings, Eunice and Cuency; her grandchildren: Chevanise, Michael, Lavaun, Sean (Oneisha), Rodney, Paulette and her husband, Dwan, Donna, Ian, Sharissa and her husband, Naim, Tracey and Stacey; her great-grandchildren: Deedee, Damien, Llyasia, Dasia, Anika, Demetric, Demarnie, Sheldon, Zack, Shane, Rackel and Luckiesha; her nieces Joyce, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins from America, Canada, Jamaica and England. She was predeceased by her daughters, Miss P and Evelyn; her son, Kenneth; her sister, Sarah and brother, Edjeton, Lowell and Papa man; her grandson, Colin (Junior), her great grandson, Dylan Visitation will be on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will start at the funeral home 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodbourne Cemetery.
