Obituary of Barbara Ferris

Barbara E. Ferris of Liberty passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at home with her loving daughter by her side. She was 67. She was the daughter of the late Tilly and Lucille Smith Ferris, born on July 16, 1950. Barbara came to the Catskills the summer of 1969 for Woodstock and made this her home. She worked for many different places over the years; the Kodak Company in Rochester, census bureau of NYC, the Raleigh Hotel and lastly she was an executive secretary for over 20 years at ARC. She was an active member of her community, she was a member of the Hurleyville Fire Department Ladies Axillary. She would love to go back home to Brockport to visit her family. She was extremely family oriented and loved being a grandmother and spending time with her feline and canine companions. On her free time she would often be found supervising her son-in-law in the garden, she was a loving person that will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Gonzalez and her husband Larry Whipple, her grandchildren Brandon Gonzalez, Andrew Somers, Justin Gonzalez, Grace DeGrot and Larry Whipple VI, her great grandchildren Leyna, and Cloe, her sisters Sharin Passarell and Diane Ferris, her dear friend and Victor (NAME), several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. There will be memorial visitation on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 12-3:00pm. There will be a funeral service at the funeral home at 1:00pm with Father Bader officiating.
