I am from Delaware. I ment Gerhard at the Blue Hill Lodge when my husband took me there for dinner. I brought my grandparents once to spend the night and for dinner. I visited him at the lodge a couple of times after that when I came to visit my husband's family. He invited me and my husband to lunch at his home with his wife. It was always special for me when I visited. The last time that I visited, he played the piano for me. It almost brought me to tears. I will greatly miss him. Thank you

On many occasions we had the opportunity to sit and talk and drink a few with Gerhard. He was an extremely intelligent man who had the the energy of a man half his age. His knowledge of worldly events was amazing and his dialect, direct and truthful. He spoke of science and life with such passion.
I am truly honored that I had the opportunity to meet and speak with him.
He will be missed but remembered with great reverence.

I am so very sorry for your families loss. Gerhard was SOOOO interesting to listen to. He would tell us little stories or anecdotes, that we ALL thoroughly enjoyed!! When he walked into our deli, he always had something new to share... this we will miss. He truly is an unforgettable character.

All my love and hugs to Evi, Shirley and families. What a beautifully written tribute to your dad. So many of my favorite childhood memories are with you and your parents, my dear friends.
I loved hearing your dad play the zither when he took it out for us on holidays. His hearty laugh filled the house and his zest for life was infectious. I always admired his sharp mind and the unabashed way he was true to himself. People tell others "just do you, be yourself".Your dad absolutely did.,
I bet your mom and Connie were overjoyed to see him, but I know he will be missed here. You are sisters in my heart, I love you. Lisette.
