Obituary of Russell Louis Maralia

Russell "Rusty" Louis Maralia, of Loch Sheldrake, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 36. He was the son of Sharon A Winter Maralia and the late Frederick Maralia, born on November 10, 1980 in Suffern, NY. Russell worked as an HVAC technician for Murray's M & B Consultants. In his free time he enjoyed playing his guitar, music, fishing and cooking as well as playing golf even though he didn't get out on the course as much as he'd like. But above all else being a family man and loving his daughter was his greatest pastime. He was a loving husband, father, cousin, uncle, nephew and friend to all who knew him, he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Janine Morrissey Maralia; daughter Addison Rose; mother Sharon and her companion Alex Gorlachov of Lady Lake, FL; in-laws Norman and Carol Morrissey of Cornwall; sister-in-law Carolynn Katenkamp and her family; his aunts and uncles Debbie Kessler and Harry, Kathy Poole and Richie, and Sharan Colgan; as well as many, many cousins. He is predeceased by his uncle Bobby Winter. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 12 to 4pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will follow at 3:30pm at the funeral home. Rev. Melvin Boone will officiate.
