Obituary of Phillip Michael Burrous

Phillip Michael Burrous, of Swan Lake, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2017. He was 26. He was the son of the late Herman Burrous and Roselinda Miekley, born on February 9, 1990 in Bronx, NY. Phillip worked as a groundskeeper and was recently promoted to heavy equipment operator for Eagle Creek Renewable Energy. In his free time he enjoyed being active and keeping himself busy, either golfing, fishing or working on cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family at the many family get togethers, particularly at Method Hunting Club in Roscoe, NY. He loved his family and friends dearly, but no one held a place in his heart like his son Phillip M. Burrous Jr. He is survived by his longtime companion Caroline Backman; his son Phillip M. Burrous Jr.; sisters Angel Feeney and Kelly Cignarale; aunts Regina Burrous and Rachel Burrous and her companion, Eric Helm; his uncle Herman Burrous; several cousins including Rebecca Burrous and her companion, Sean, Joey Burrous and his companion, Courtney, and Jason and Jesse Helm; and best friends Rob Davis, Mike Stoddard and Matt Marvel; as well as a host of friends. Memorial contributions in Phillip's name may be made to the family in order to help raise Phillip's son. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 4 to 6pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A celebration of Phillip's life will be held following the visitation at Oscar Brown's, 2514 State Route 52, Liberty, NY 12754.
