Obituary of Mary Monforte

Maria Rose "Mary" Monforte, of Woodbourne, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017. She was 92. She was the daughter of the late Filipo and Frances Macari, born on October 27, 1924 in New York City. Mary worked as a seamstress and thoroughly enjoyed her work. When she wasn't behind a sewing machine you could often find her reading, cooking and doing what she loved making a home for her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her, she will be deeply missed. She is survived by her son Tom Monforte and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren: Sandra, Denise, Michael, Danielle, Tommy and Jessica; great-grandchildren: Michael, Joey, Matthew, Ryan and Tyler; and her brother Frank Macari. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Thomas Anthony Monforte in 1971; her son Daniel Monforte in 1998; and her longtime companion Gene Maynard in 2009. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3 to 6pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will be held at 5:30 at the funeral home.
