Obituary of Amy L Garber
Amy L. Garber, of Hurleyville, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at home. She was 94.
She was the daughter of the late Eugene Osterhout and Alva (Krum) Osterhout, born on July 29, 1922 in Glen Wild, NY.
Amy enjoyed the simple things in life, you could often find her crocheting or knitting while relaxing at home. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and family. She spent her winters in Florida spending time with her friends and her church family. Amy belonged to the Cooperative Home Extension - Liberty Belles, the Liberty United Methodist Church and the Southside Christian Church of Ft. Pierce, FL. But most of all she was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all who knew her, she will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind her children: Darlene Nielsen and her husband, John, of Hurleyville, Wayne Garber and his wife, Betty, of Liberty, Roy Garber and his wife, Mary, of Woodbourne, and Cheryl Celentano and her husband, John, of Hackensack; grandchildren: Erik, Tracy, Kristin, Troy, Derek, David, Brian, John and Steven; great-grandchildren: Ian, Jillian, Devon, Brett, Drew, Bria, Cole, Jace and Mason; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She joins in Heaven her beloved husband of over 50 years, Lee W. Garber; and her brothers and sisters: Florence Eggler, Marguerite Hotchkin, Dorothy Slater, Eugene, Howard and Vernon Osterhout.
Anyone wishing to honor Amy's memory may make donations in her name to a charity of one's own choice.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 11am at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery. Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.
