Richard Tamok

Obituary of Richard George Tamok

Richard G. "Rich" Tamok January 22, 1965-December 10, 2016 Richard G. "Rich" Tamok, of Monticello, the funniest, loudest, most lovable, good guy, battled with the only thing that could beat him, cancer, and passed on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Rich was a man who knew the importance of family, but you did not have to be family to know his kindness, though if you angered him he was not afraid to tell anyone what he was thinking. He worked very hard and lived life to the fullest. A child at heart he was fun to be around, laughter came easy to him and he spread the laughter where ever he went. So many people loved him and called him friend. He is survived by his Mother Nikki Thorpe, sisters Wendy Gould Lockard (Chris) and Robin Gould; brothers Jamie Thorpe, Francis Tamok (Laura) and Dale Gould; daughters Beth Van Horn (Mikey) and Jessica DeGraw; son Richard Castro; grandsons: Ethan Van Horn and Damian DeGraw; granddaughter Lilliana Gonzalez; 5 nieces 2 nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and multiple step-brothers and sisters. He was pre-deceased by his wife Roberta Tamok; stepfather William Thorpe; and brother Jace Gould. A memorial service will be held on a date to be determined. Richard had a love for children second to none, for this reason we are asking any donations be made to St. Jude's Children Cancer research, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in his honor; he would want every child to have a fighting chance.
