Obituary of Peter Offringa
Peter Offringa, of Grahamsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the age of 61. He was the son of the late Richard D. Offringa and Bettine C. McKean, born on March 24, 1955 in Ridgewood, NJ.
Peter worked for many years as an entrepreneur of the Winworth Company, then driving and as the Outdoor Program Director at the New Age Health Spa, and more recently driving for the Damian Family Care Centers. He was known as being a people person, generous to a fault, selfless, and having a great sense of humor. Peter was awarded the Outstanding Lodging Employee of the Year for his work at the New Age Health Spa. He was then fondly referred to as "Mister Manners of the Mountains." In his free time Peter loved being outside, soaking up the sun and fresh air with his family whether it be biking, hiking, traveling or just relaxing. He also had a particular soft spot for his canine companions.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Janis; daughters Casey and Kristen Offringa, and son Brian O'Hara and his wife Ericka; his grandsons Jackson and Colin O'Hara; as well as his extended family and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 2 to 4pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. Rev. Erik Soldwedel will be officiating.
