Obituary
Obituary of Craig Thomas Adams
Craig Thomas Amthor Adams, of Walden and Neversink, passed away on October 5, 2016 losing a long fought battle with addiction. He was 35.
He was the son of Richard Adams and Arlene Amthor, born on November 4, 1980 in Middletown, NY.
Craig was a proud graduate of SUNY Sullivan, SUNY New Paltz and Syracuse University and the New House School where he achieved his Master's degree in Communication & Film. He was most recently employed in Manhattan editing television, radio and public service films. His greatest passion was for music and demonstrated his talent through composition and lyrics with his band. When he wasn't working, or playing/composing music he enjoyed the outdoors-camping and hiking through the mountains and snowboarding in the winter. He loved animals since he was a child, always taking the smallest and the most vulnerable, to nurse them back to health. His personality was shining, his smile could captivate and charm, and he had a very special place in his heart for his niece and nephews. His warm personality and sense of humor made him hard to resist and was able to make friends easily. His smile and mischievous twinkle in his eye could light up a room. Craig was always a deeply loving and sensitive human being whether son, brother, uncle or friend. His sense of integrity was unyielding, and his soul was amazingly gentle, and it was only the grips of addiction that this wonderful and valuable spirit became weighted down. All who knew him loved him, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother Arlene Amthor Adams-Lambert and her husband Tom, of Neversink; his father Richard Adams and his wife Janet of Grahamsville; his brother Marine Ryan Adams and his wife Darcie and their family, of Columbus, OH; and his step-brothers Richie Adams and Dustin Adams and their families. He now joins in heaven his brother Christopher Amthor Adams and his grandparents Bill and Mildred Amthor.
In lieu of flowers a foundation to support education in the prevention of substance abuse will be set up in his name.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 13th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at his family's residence, 79 Armstrong Dr. Neversink, NY 12765. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, October 14th at St. Peter's Church, 262 N. Main St, Liberty, NY. Interment to follow at Grahamsville Cemetery.
