Obituary of Joyce J Perelman

Joyce J. Perelman, of Manhattan, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016. She was 79. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Perelman and Lillian Schaffer, born on September 12, 1936 in White Plains, NY. Joyce was known for having an incredibly large heart and being a very giving and good person. She devoted 38 years of her life to being a much beloved teacher in New York City. She could not turn her cheek to anyone who needed help, if you needed her she was there. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading and was a dedicated walker. She also enjoyed attending formal events based around culture like ballets and concerts. Joyce was also an animal lover and rescued many pets over the years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted companion Leon Aronin. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother Dr. Ira Perelle. Memorial Contributions in Joyce's name can be made to an animal rescue center of one's choice. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
