Obituary of Carl Otto Ulrich

Carl Otto Ulrich, of Neversink, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 84. He was born on October 5, 1931 in White Sulphur Springs, NY, son of the late Joseph Ulrich and Dora (Bennett) Ulrich. Carl worked as a cement truck driver for Teamsters Union #445 and later for VAW in Ellenville, NY. He was passionate about classic trucks, tractors and cars and enjoyed going to local shows. But above all, he loved his family, especially his wife of more than 65 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all he knew and he will be deeply missed. He leaves behind his devoted wife Margaret (Porter) Ulrich; his daughters: Brenda Distel and her husband Lenny, Karen Hess and her husband Tom, and Susan Giangiacomo; his grandchildren Andrew McCabe, Tim Distel, Jon and Joe Giangiacomo and Jennifer Snodderley; his great-grandchildren Michael, Kayleigh, Dominick and Derrick Giangiacomo; and his sister Ruth Simonson and her husband Bud and several nieces, nephews, and other loved ones. He is predeceased by his son-in-law John Giangiacomo and his sister Alice Stadtmuller. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 30th at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery. Father John Lynch officiating.
