Obituary of Lawrence D Houghtaling

Lawrence D. Houghtaling, of Woodbourne, passed away on Thursday, July 07, 2016 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 60. He was the son of the late Allie Houghtaling Jr. and Nettie Mae Wright, born on October 19, 1955 in Monticello, NY. Larry formerly worked for the Town of Fallsburg and Arthur Glick Truck Sales. He enjoyed the outdoors and the accompanying sports he collected knives, guns and crosses and you could occasionally find him hunting, but he was most passionate about fishing and loved everything about it. He was a big hearted man who was always willing to lend a helping hand when he could. On his free time enjoyed playing dominos and cards, but you could also find him relaxing at home completing a jigsaw puzzle. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings Geraldine Rundle and her husband Delbert, of Loch Sheldrake, Glen Shaw and her husband Paul Muhlig of Parksville, and Randy E. Houghtaling of Monticello; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews; and his special friends Charles "Chuck" and Cathy Bollin of Grahamsville. He was predeceased by his two brothers Allie "Gene" Houghtaling and Melvin "Big Mel" Houghtaling. A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 7 to 9pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788.
