Obituary of Justino Marrero-Mendez

Justino Marrero-Mendez, of Ellenville, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at home. He was 80. He was the son of Galo Marrero and Leonicia Mendez, born on December 11, 1935 in Sabana Seca de Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. On July 8, 1966 Justino married Annie B. Talley and to this union one son was born, Jermaine Mendez. I am resting now. It has been a long life and I have met a lot of people. I have no regrets. I enjoyed a good life and wanted everyone to know do not weep for I am sleeping and waiting on Jesus. Don't be afraid when you hear of the problems in the world and watch terrifying news reports. Just pray each and every day. I want to leave you with the best gift of all —I give you Jesus. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife Annie; his son Jermaine (Erika) Mendez; three grandchildren: Jordan, Joshua and Zaya Mendez; his sister Luz (Cecil); his brother Jeronimo (Gloria) Mendez; two brothers-in-law: Richard and Buster Talley; one sister-in-law Marie Shorter; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Visitation will take place on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 10 to 11am at Ellenville Seventh Day Adventist Church. A funeral service will follow at the church. Pastor Vernon Jordan Officiating at 11:00am.
