Obituary of Jacob M Ruef

Jacob M. Ruef, of Woodbourne, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Achieve Nursing Home. He was 83. He was the son of the late Martin Ruef and Alberta Moritz, born on April 12, 1933 in Monticello, NY. Jacob served our country in the U.S. Army then began his career as a carpenter for Union Carpenter Local 19 in Newburgh, NY. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his children: James "Jim" Ruef of Hasbrouck and Melissa Ruef of Ellenville; and his siblings Julia Dolgas and Michael E. Ruef, both of Hasbrouck. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacob's name can be made to Sullivan County SPCA, 104 Rock Hill Drive, Rock Hill, NY 12775. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, State Route 55, Grahamsville, NY 12740 at 10:30am, Rev. Paul Z. Ruter will officiate.
