Obituary of Franccesca Torres

Franccesca ?Frenchie? Kassandra Torres of Woodbourne passed away sadly on Saturday, March 16, 2013. She was 18. She was the daughter of Frances Garcia, born on June 20, 1994 in the Bronx. She was a proud graduate of Fallsburg Central High School Class of 2012. Throughout her high school career she was an active member of various extracurricular activities. She found great enjoyment in being the Cheerleading Captain, being her class prom queen, a member of the drama club, softball team, Chorus and the SADD program; all of which she helped through volunteer service and fundraising. Frenchie was outgoing, friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. Frenchie enjoyed her time working at Bethel Woods. She was family oriented and was a person of strong moral character. She just embarked on a new chapter in her life when she enrolled at SUNY Oswego. She was studying business and psychology. While away at college she became a sister of the Sigma Delta Tau Sisterhood of the Gamma Kappa Chapter at SUNY Oswego. Frenchie knew how to cheer up a room with just her smile. Her beauty and charisma will truly be missed by her fellow classmates, friends and most importantly her family. She leaves a life time of memories behind for all to keep her close to their hearts. She leaves to cherish her memories; her mother Frances Garcia, her siblings Hector Garcia and his wife Miranda, Vanessa Garcia, Celia Garcia, Nathaniel Torres, Christine Garcia, Vincent Garcia, Alex Garcia, Noel Garcia and Marina Betances, her grandmother Juanita Betances, aunts and uncles Jerry Garcia Sr. and his wife Phaikjoo Teh-Garcia, Frank Garcia, Dawn Reardon, Renee Mott and Laverne Brown and husband Ricky Brown, close cousins John Anthony Rodriguez, Frank Garcia Jr. and Jerry Garcia Jr. one nieces Adison Garcia and her boyfriend Braiden DeGraw. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 25 at 11:00am, Pastor Ismael Berrios will officiate.
