Obituary of Leopoldo Alberto Solorzano
Leopoldo Alberto Solorzano, of South Fallsburg passed away peacefully into the Lord's hand with his wife and daughter by his side on Thursday, May 5, 2016. He was 68.
He was the son of the late Alberto Solorzano and Maria Melara; born on October 26th, 1947 in San Francisco, CA.
He served in the US military from 1972-1992 as a first Sargent. After he retired from the Army he worked at the Concord and Nevele Hotels, and then at Catskill Regional Medical Center and Hudson River Healthcare. He retired at age 64. He was a very happy outgoing individual who's smile brightened a room. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family and friends. He was characterized by his great humor. Leopoldo was also well known as Al and Polo by family and friends. He lived many years in El Salvador with his grandmother Maria G Solorzano.
He will be missed and survived by his wife Mirna Quinteros his 3 children, Laiza Solorzano, Carlos Solorzano, and Daniella Solorzano, his 3 granddaughters, Kylie, Evyn, and Gianna; his brother Francisco Martinez and his 2 nephews Fran Martinez, Carlos Martinez, and niece Gaby Martinez. As well as by many other family and friends.
Visitation will be today, Friday, May 6, 2016 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 6-9:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Peters Church, Liberty Street Monticello, NY 12701 at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty NY 12754, with full military honors.
