Obituary of Tennie Palmer

Tennie Palmer of Woodridge, NY passed away peacefully on April 14, 2016 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 82. She was the 10th child born to the late Frank and Stella Alexander Palmer, on May 6, 1933 in Tennessee. Tennie was one of 12 children, who loved to cook. She worked at Haitian American Day Care Center for many years cooking for all the children. She loved being around and taking care of children. For many years she opened her home up to many children in the community as she was caring form them as their foster parent. Her heart was always open to give any child what they needed. On her free time she enjoyed being a beautician, listening and watching Joel Osteen, playing basketball and dancing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family; she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children Joyce Palmer, Vanessa Tucker, and Annette Sellers, her grandchildren Kindra, Clinton, Tony Jr., Joshua, David, and Teddy, her great grandchildren Kannon, Lamera, Erica, Majestic, Heavyn, and Stephanie, one great great grandchild, her siblings Esta McCoy, Nina Gregg, and Josie Jarette and a host of friends. She was predeceased by one son Tony, 8 siblings. There will be a memorial visitation on Friday, April 23, 2016 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 3:30pm-4:00pm with a funeral service starting at 4:00pm.
