Obituary of Howard F Knapp

Howard F. Knapp, of Livingston Manor, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 61. He was the son of Thurston Knapp and Norma Hamilton, born on September 1, 1954 in Livingston Manor, NY. Howard was a graduate of Livingston Manor High School, after he graduated he went on to proudly serve our country in the US Navy from June 28, 1974 until his retirement March 31, 1995 as a machinist mate. After he retired from the Navy he worked as an auto mechanic and part time worked as a janitor in Livingston Manor Central School and most recently as a grocery clerk at Peck’s in Livingston Manor. Howard knew how to have fun, spending his free time at the casino, watching movies and even cartoons, bowling and visiting amusement parks. He loved to joke around and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Yankees, you could often find him throwing around a basketball himself. He was also a member of the Manor Hose Auxiliary. He was someone everyone enjoyed being around, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him, he will be sorely missed. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Pamela at home; his father Thurston Knapp; his children: Julie Knapp and her significant other Deric Young Sr. of Livingston Manor, and Jeffrey Knapp and his wife Desiree of Virginia; his adopted children: Alexis Eskridge and Brian Eskridge Jr.; his grandchildren: Deric Young Jr and Chloe Jones; his siblings: Sandra, Maryanne and Wayne Knapp and Denis Hamilton; his mother-in-law Harriette Hoag; and brother-in-laws Kevin and Keith Hoag; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 4 to 7pm at Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl St. Livingston Manor, NY 12758. A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11am at the funeral home with full military honors. Rev.
