Obituary of James W. Green

James "Jim" W. Green of Livingston Manor passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Roscoe Nursing Home. He was 81. He was the son of the late Willard and Irene Will Green, born on March 12, 1934 in Livingston Manor, NY. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Airforce from 1952-1956. He was a Heavy Machine Operator for the Local #825 and he was a Federally Certified Dynamite Blaster. His service continued as a Livingston Manor Constable. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and loved his horses and cows. He was a member of the Clarence Hoyt Post 9217 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be deeply missed by his community and especially his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lucy; his children: Jim Green Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Kelly Green, all of Livingston Manor, and Jen Green of Scranton, PA; his grandchildren: Cody and Carlee Green; his great grandchildren: Cora and Alice Mills; his sister: Janet Taggart of Livingston Manor; his brother, Gary Green of Florida and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 24th at Colonial-Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with full military honors. Donations in his name can be made to Sullivan County SPCA 104 Rock Hill Drive Rock Hill, NY 12775 or the charity of one's own choice.
