Obituary of Mary Kathryn Woods

Mary K. Woods, long time resident of the Hasbrouck and Woodbourne area, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 in Montrose, NY. She was 74. She was the daughter of the late Edward Woods and Catherine Higgins, born on March 1, 1941 in Ithaca, NY. Mary proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from (approx.) 1968 until 1981 both overseas, in Germany, as well as in the states. She worked as an X-Ray technician both during her years served in the Army and when she returned home. Mary's kindness and caring to those around her was evident in many ways. She often visited those who were home bound, making phone calls to check on people and was always there to help others out. Her love and care of animals was very well known. She will be missed by many loving cousins and friends. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her nephews: Christian, Kevin, Terrance and Daniel. She is predeceased by her brothers: Thomas, Edward and Donald and nephew Keith Woods. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's name to your local ASPCA. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 24th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service and military honors will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 24th at the funeral home.
