Obituary of Walter F. Prosser

Walter Prosser, of Woodbourne, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015. He was 81. He was the son of the late John William Prosser and Rachael Llewellyn Schrock, born on July 23, 1934 in Cresson, PA. He worked at Lakeside Nursery, Sternberg Lumber, CRV, Inc, and Sheldrake Dorms throughout the course of his career. He enjoyed being outside riding his tractor, working and fixing things. He was known to be big hearted, someone who would help anyone in need. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to all that knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Walter leaves behind his devoted wife Frances M. Prosser; his children: Barbara Jean Myrick, Linda DeBree and her husband David, Margaret, Walter John and George William Prosser, Victoria Lynn Burger, and Lore Prosser; his grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788, from 2-4:00pm. A funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 10:00am.. Interment will follow at Airmont Lutheran Cemetery, Suffern, NY.
