Obituary of George Kwoka Jr.
George Kwoka Jr., 63, of Mountain Dale, NY, passed away on September 17, 2015 at Catskill Regional Medical Center.
George was born in Brooklyn, NY to George Sr. and Sophie Shkoditch Kwoka on September 23, 1951. He went to school at Stuyvesant High School and Cooper Union College both in New York, NY. He married Helene Kwoka on May 31, 1975 in Hurleyville, NY. George worked as a VP of Information Systems for Cable Vision and Granite Associates for 23 years. He was most recently a dedicated driver for Rolling V Bus Corporation in his retirement years as well as a tax preparer. He was very active as a choir singer and gospel reader at the Church of All Saints of Russia in Pine Bush, NY.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Helene and three sons: Matthew and his wife, Alicia, Adam and his wife, Iman and Christopher and his wife, Elena; along with his mother, Sophie; sister, Dr. Suzanne Lewis and his brother-in-law, Steven Lewis, sister-in-law, Reginal; nephews and nieces including: Andrew, Gregory, Michael, Nicole, Courtney, Stephen, Kristen and grandchildren: Jacob, Nahla, Zayn and mother-in-law, Gladys Miller.
Visitation will be from, 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 20th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. Panakayda will be at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 21st at the Church of All Saints of Russia, 287 Jansen Road, Pine Bush, NY, with Father Nikolai Babijtchouk officiating. Burial will follow at Fantinekill Cemetery.
