Obituary of Eugene W. Doyle
Eugene Doyle of Mountaindale formerly of Woodbourne passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Achieve Rehab and Nursing. He was 80.
He was the son of the late James and Josephine Lambert Doyle, born on March 22, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY.
He was a sheet metal worker for is his entire career and later retired from Local #38. He was a life member of the Woodbourne Fire Department, and Cub Scout Master in Woodbourne. He was a member and communicate of St. Joseph's Church in Wurtsboro. Eugene and his wife Barbara relocated from Long Island over 40 years ago and purchased property at the edge of Woodbourne. It was an old boarding house that with love and dedication renovated it from the foundation to the roof peek for what is now called "Doyle's Acres." He was the best joke teller, enjoyed photography, gardening, wood working, cooking, fishing and hunting. He was an avid golfer and liked spending the winters in Vero Beach, Florida. He loved to spend time with his family but especially with his grandchildren. His generous nature and loving touch will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara Doyle who he married on October 19, 1957, his loving children Susan M. Doyle Kranyak and her husband Stephen of New City, NY, Eugene W. Doyle Jr., and his wife Tami of Ferndale, NY., Timothy R. Doyle and his wife Beth of Cochecton, NY., eight grandchildren Eugene W. Doyle III, Patrick C. Doyle, Spencer J. Kranyak, Alec M. Kranyak, Jocelyn C. Doyle, Kaden T Doyle, Finn S. Doyle and Carly A. Doyle, his sisters Betty Murphy and Patricia Foss. He was predeceased by his three brothers James, John and Robert Doyle.
Visitation will be today, Friday, August 14, 2015 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00pm. There will be a Firematic service at the funeral home tonight at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00am St. Joseph's Church 180 Sullivan Street, Wurtsboro, NY. Interment will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery, Wurtsboro, NY.
