Obituary of Eleanor F Johaneman

Eleanor Johaneman, a longtime resident of Willowemoc, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 8, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 and the widow of Emil Johaneman. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Clara Young Specht, born on October 25, 1924 in Acidalia, NY. Eleanor was a member and trustee of the Willowemoc Baptist Church for many years, and a Republican Chairman in the Town of Neversink. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. She enjoyed playing pinochle, poker and rummy and loved having company to talk to. She always made her home a warm and welcoming place for all to come and visit and she treated everyone like they were her family. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her children, Carol Froehlich and her husband Gene of Willowemoc, NY., Rita Banks of Hewitt, NJ., Joseph Johaneman and his wife Julianne of Blair, SC., Mary Eck of Livingston Manor, NY., and Donna Johaneman and partner David Diescher of Norwalk, CT. Her cherished grandchildren are Steven Froehlich and fiancé Linda Jordan, Jeff Froehlich and his wife Lori, Kevin Banks and his wife Amanda, Cheryl Cipolla and her husband James, Joseph Johaneman, Justin Johaneman and his partner Gretchen Hoffman, Jessica Peterson and her husband Tyler, and Christopher Dombrowski, her great grandchildren Cody, Allison, and Emily Froehlich, Caroline and Christian Banks, and Dylan and Kyle Cipolla. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and her beloved pets, Whiskers, and Kitty Cat. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Emil Johaneman, her sisters Stella Fredenburg, Marie Oestrich, Dorothy Steenrod, Ethel Urso, and broth ers Clarence Specht, Harold Specht, Martin Specht, Arthur Specht, Burton Specht, and William Specht and her great granddaughter Marissa Froehlich. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 2-4:00pm and 7-9:00pm at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home 29 Pearl Street Livingston Manor, NY 12758. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the funeral home at 11:00am with Pastor Chris DeLong officiating. Interment will follow at Claryville Cemetery, Claryville, NY.
