Obituary of Floyd Van Tassel

Floyd Van Tassel of Mountaindale passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 54. He was the son of Mary Pitt and the late Robert Van Tassel Sr., born on February 5, 1961 in Suffern, NY. Floyd worked in heating and plumbing for many years. On his spare time he enjoyed watching NASCAR, cars and spending time outdoors with a cold one. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew and loved him he will be sorely missed, especially by his canine companion Sadie. He is survived by his mother Mary Van Tassel, his siblings George Van Tassel, Levi Van Tassel, Richard Van Tassel and his companion Marilyn Ford, Jane Schechner and her husband, Steven, MaryAnn Van Tassel and her companion, Raymond, and Joyce Van Tassel Pitt; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was predeceased by one brother Robert Van Tassel Jr. Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 1-3:00pm. A funeral service will be on Friday at the funeral home at 2:30pm with Rev. Mike Sparrow officiating. Interment will follow at Ulster Heights Cemetery, Ulster Heights, NY.
