Obituary of Hans Diercksen

Hans Georg Diercksen, of Livingston Manor, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility. He was 87. He was born on August 17, 1927, in St. Magnus, Germany, the son of the late Georg and Magdalena Bruing Diercksen. Hans came to America in 1954 and worked as a carpenter, eventually becoming a partner in a small construction company. He was an avid hunter and active member in the Sullivan County Conservation Club for more than 50 years. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all who knew and loved him; he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Anneliese Diercksen; his son Pete and his wife Pat of Castleton, Vermont; his daughter Heidi and her husband Bill of Mahwah, NJ; his grandchildren Kyle, Anya, and Kurt; his great grandson Kellen; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2015, at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758 from 6-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at 11:00 am. Rev. Johanna K. Andritz will officiate. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Liberty Cemetery. Donations in Hans's name can be made to the Sullivan County Conservation Club, PO Box 9, Monticello, NY 12701.
