James Young

Obituary of James Lewis Young

James "Jim" Lewis Young of Livingston Manor passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015. He was 64. He was the son of the late John Young and Vivian Stickney, born on May 11, 1950 in Livingston Manor. Today we lost our beloved husband and father James; not only was he a loving and caring husband he took on the role of the most influential man to all his children. He was one hell of a "Poppy" the greatest father and grandfather ever. He was a tractor trailer driver for 44 years, and his handle was the "Hayraker". He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved his NY Giants. He enjoyed John Wayne movies and one of his favorite past times was yelling at his grandchildren with love. In two quotes from his favorite actor John Wayne that best describes him are: "I'm the stuff men are made of and Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyways". In this quote from his children "In our eyes no other man will ever be a better dad to us then he was". He leaves behind his most precious pistachio his wife of 27 years Connie Young, his children: Michael Young, Jackie Andersen, Tina Dutcher and her husband Darin, Steven Ward and his wife Tonya Dungey, David Ward, Richard Ward, Amanda Mazzucca and her husband Joseph and Angelia Ward, 21 grandchildren, his siblings Cathy and John Young, and Tim Smith, his great friends O.J and Jackie Wilson and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 2 grandchildren Joseph Mazzucca and Donald Wilson and his siblings Tom, Gary and Patty Young. Visitation will be on Monday, May 11, 2015 at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street Livingston Manor, NY 12758 from 2-4:00pm and 7-9:00pm. A celebration of life will begin at the funeral home at 8:00pm.
