Obituary of Mildred Woodward

Mildred "Mid" E. Woodward of Poughkeepsie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Lutheran Care Center. She was 97. She was the daughter of the late John A. and Cecilia Stangle Eidel born on March 6, 1918 in Woodbourne, NY. Mid worked for many years as a Teacher's Aide and Secretary for Poughkeepsie School District. She loved gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She was a past member and communicant of the Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. She was also a past member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception Church in Woodbourne. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving children John Woodward and his wife Joanne of Memphis, TN., Jeffrey Woodward and his wife Pamela of Poughkeepsie, James Woodward and Rosemary of Madison, WI., and Jill Jones and her husband John of Poughkeepsie, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and one sister Ruth Eidel of Woodbourne. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Lyle B. Woodward who she married on April 5, 1943, and two brothers Donald Eidel and Clarence "Sonny" Eidel. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2-4:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception 6317 State Route 42 Woodbourne, NY 12788 at 10:00pm. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Woodbourne.
