Obituary of Ruby Bennett

Ruby Bennett of Westbrookville passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 72. She was the daughter of the late Ruth Holliday born on May 21, 1942 in the Bronx, NY. Ruby attended Sullivan ARC and AHRC Mount Hope day program for many years. She participated in many courses offered at SUNY Sullivan College for Educational Enrichment. She was a very kind, sweet lady, a fabulous woman with a good sense of humor who loved gospel music and Kenny Rogers. She enjoyed singing and dancing, watching Yankee baseball games, and being around children and babies. She constantly reminded everyone to "have a heart". She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She is survived by many friends and loved ones throughout Sullivan and Orange County. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home; Rev. Matthews will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Woodbourne, NY.
