Obituary of Marlyn Cooper

Marlyn Cooper of Loch Sheldrake, NY passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at his home. He was surrounded by those closest to him and passed peacefully in the comfort of his own home. He was 87 years old. Marlyn was the son of the late Anita Rae and Harry Thompson Cooper and was born in Middletown, NY on June 16, 1927. Marlyn was a gentle soul, and was known as a gentleman and a ladies man with a quick wit to those close to him. He was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR related events. He also loved attending car shows. He was fond of black and white films and music reminiscent of the Big Band era. He loved the company of friends and the close bonds he shared with his New Hope family. He is survived by his half-brother Ray Cooper of Lake George, NY and his cousin Will Stabler, from Middletown, NY, and his entire extended family at New Hope Community. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 10:00am-12:00pm.
