Obituary of Paula Fiedler
Paula Fiedler passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty, New York, where she briefly resided. She was 90.
Mrs. Fiedler was the daughter of the late Johann and Paula Perz Zurl, and was born in Gottschee, Yugoslavia. She immigrated to New York City in 1952 where she met her husband, Reinhold.
She was a homemaker and raised her family in Monroe, NY where she also worked as a bookkeeper. She moved to Earlysville, VA in 1986 with her husband, and later resided in Grahamsville, NY to be closer to her family. Her husband of nearly 59 years, Reinhold, passed away in May 2013. Paula Fiedler enjoyed reading, gardening, drawing, knitting and dancing. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Mrs. Fiedler is survived by a son, Walter Fiedler and his wife, Jeanne, of Grahamsville, NY; a daughter, Dorothy and her husband, Daniel Creighton of Staten Island, NY and two grown grandsons: Max Fiedler of Darby, MT and Robert Fiedler of Albany, NY. She is also survived by two brothers, Otto Zurl and Alfred Zurl of Graz, Austria, and many nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no viewing and her ashes will be handled privately by her family.
