Obituary of Clarence Tillson

Clarence L. Tillson ?Tilly? of Woodbourne passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at home with his family by his side. He was 85. He was the son of the late Frank and Pearl Keaton Tillson, born on May 20, 1927 in Grahamsville, NY. Clarence was a dedicated employee no matter where he worked and had a great work ethic starting at a young age. He started working when he was as young as 15 for Smith?s Garage driving a bus for kids his own age, with various different routes. He later began working for the Town of Neversink plowing snow. Then he helped with the construction of the Neversink Dam. He proudly served our county in the United States Army from 1950-1952 during the Korean Conflict. He later became a long distance truck driver working for McBride MC Transportation and later retiring from Glover Leaf Transportation. He was one of the original members of the Grahamsville Fire Department. He married his wife Hilda Cypert in January 31, 1952. He will be missed deeply. He is survived by his wife Hilda of Woodbourne and his only daughter Naomi Tillison of NYC. He was predeceased by his brother Harvey Tillson in 2006. There will be memorial visitation on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 1-2:00pm. A firematic service will begin at the funeral home at 2:00pm followed by a funeral service; Rev. (NAME) will officiate. The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the hospice workers of Orange and Sullivan Counties that helped them during their time of need. They would also like to thank Dr. Emmanuel N. Rodriguez for all his care through the years.
