Obituary of JoAnn S. Wood

JoAnn S. Wood of Livingston Manor passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 71. She was the daughter of the late William and Johanna Horvath Mantel, born on July 3, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. For many years she worked as a waitress for several different diners and restaurants. She loved her family dearly and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, JoAnn also enjoyed traveling and playing a good game of cards, but most of all spending quality time with her grandchildren; she will truly be deeply missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her devote husband of 52 years, Joseph Wood Sr., her children Joseph Wood Jr. and his wife Cecila, William Wood and his companion Kimberly, Anthony Wood, Linda Fisk and her husband Kenny, Jennifer Wood, and Justin Wood, her grandchildren Paiton, Preston, and Daniel Wood, Kenny Fisk and Kristen Wood-Bowers, great grandchildren Brayden and Bryson, and a host of friends. She was predeceased by one son Michael J. Wood. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11th at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl St., Livingston Manor, NY 12758. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12th at St. Aloysius Church, Church St. in Livingston Manor; Father Ed Bader will officiate.
