Obituary of Gladys Stanton

Gladys June Stanton of Liberty passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 81. Gladys was the daughter of the late Vera Stanton, born on June 12, 1929 in Lumberland, NY. She was one of ten children in her family. Gladys lived in Rockland County for 53 years until March 30, 1981 when she moved to Liberty. She attended Sullivan ARC Day Program from 1981 until January 2011 when she became ill. Sullivan County Chapter of NYSARC's Guardianship committee served as Gladys family from 1997 as there were no know surviving siblings. Gladys will be truly missed by all that knew her or came in contact with her. Besides the guardianship committee Gladys is survived by her extended family at the Old Monticello Road home where she lived from 1999 until her death. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 10-12pm. A funeral service will be at 12:00 pm at the funeral home on Monday, January 24, 2011. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Woodbourne, NY 12788.
