Obituary of Milton Van Keuren

Milton E. Van Keuren of Neversink passed away peacefully on February 8, 2011 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was He was one of five boys and two girls born to Adella Dice and Frank Van Keuren on October 19, 1927 in his beloved Neversink Valley. Milt loved the life, the people and the land of the old village. He vividly recalled the families where they resided and the names of their loved ones. He lived in the valley until the age of 14 when he and his father were forced to leave and find residence elsewhere. They moved to Grahamsville near the site of the Grahamsville Massacre. Milton was a past Chief of the Neversink Fire Department and Ambulance Corps. On May 9 1953 he married the former Eileen Lynch of Staten Island. They had 3 children Jeanine, Diane, and Thomas. Jeanine married David Drawer and they had 3 children Maghan, Sean, and Kevin. Diane married Donald Terry and they had 2 children Sarah and Lisa. Thomas has 2 children Travis and Judy. Abiding by Milton's wishes there will be no services. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. Donations in Milton's name can be made to the Neversink Fire Department or the Ambulance Corp.
