Obituary of Sharon Rexford

Sharon Rebecca "Becky" Wright Rexford, of Liberty, NY, passed away, Tuesday, February 22, 2011 after a long illness, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center SNU, with her loving husband and three of her sons at her side. She was 65. The daughter of the late Vernon Wright and the late Mary Helen Wright Silverman, she was born February 10, 1946 in Memphis, TN. She was a long time employee of both Katz Bakery and Jamesway. After raising her four sons, with courage and determination, Becky went back to school to fulfill her long time dream of becoming a nurse. She was an RN in SNU. Nurses and nurse's aides were honored to care for the woman they once worked beside. With her life-long love of animals, Becky and her husband, Leo, also raised dogs as a hobby. Becky is survived by her loving husband Leo Rexford,III; sons James Ratner, Joseph Ratner, Jason Ratner, and Sean Boyle; and step-daughter Heather Gibson. Also surviving are her sister, Jane Rydzynski & her companion Lincoln of Saratoga Springs, NY; brother Leo Silverman & his wife Louise of Gardnerville, NV; step-brother William Silverman & his wife Aimee of Lafayette Hill, PA; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Becky was predeceased by her stepfather and mother, Samuel and Mary Helen Silverman; and her father Vernon Wright. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
