Obituary of Charles Eckerson

Charles R. Eckerson, age 80 of Grahamsville, NY passed away peacefully on April 9, 2011. After serving his country proudly with the Marine Corp in the Korean War, Charles worked as a foremen for 34 years with the Spring Valley Water company. His passed accommodations as a commandant of the Rockland detachment of the Marine Corp league, was a testament to his life time devotion to The Corp. Spending much of his life on his homestead in Monsey, NY, Charles and his wife retired in 1986 to Grahamsville, NY. There, he lived the last 25 years of his life. Charles has earned the love and respect of all who have known him and he will surely be missed. A loving husband and father, he is survived by his devoted wife Dorothy of Grahamsville, for 58 years, daughters Deborah of Buffalo, NY along with Brenda Cook and son-in law Roy Cook of Pomona, NY. Also survived by his sister Genevive Dell\'olio of Nyack, NY along with many nieces and nephews. Charles will be laid to rest next to his youngest daughter Elizabeth who passed in 2008. Services to be held on April 16, 2011 11:00 am at the Saddle River Reformed Church, 500 East Saddle River Rd, Saddle River, NJ. with full military Honors In lieu of flowers, donations to the VA of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
