Obituary of Henry Zalsky

Henry Zalsky of Greenfield Park passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 Ellenville Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 82. He was the son of the late Charles and Claudia "Clara" Wolk Zalsky, born on April 4, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY. He proudly served his country in the United State Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. He was honored to be a veteran and was commander of American Legion # 1053. He was a past commander of VFW # 6294. His final request was to be buried in one of his uniforms. Henry had many different jobs over the past couple years; for 37 years he worked for the Intercounty Feed Mill. He also worked in the Village of Woodridge DPW for 10 years; and lastly he farmed the family farm for 53 years. He is survived by his loving wife Marcia Dlugatch Zalsky at home, his brother Chester Zalsky and his wife Donna, his sister Lillian Tuner, step daughter Dawn Krol and her husband Jack, his step grandchildren Kathleen and Melissa Krol, his step great granddaughter Katie Krol-Schaus and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother Richard E. Zalsky. Visitation will be on Today, June 14, 2011 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service will be held today at 2:30pm at the funeral home.
