Obituary of Sarah Bartow

Sarah Jane Bartow of Cochecton passed away quietly at home with members of her extended family by her side on Monday, July 11, 2011. She was 80 years old. Sarah was born in 1931 in Huntington, New York on Long Island to the late Robert Bartow and Elizabeth Burr Bartow. "Sarah Belle" as she was affectionately called by members of her extended family had joined Crystal Run Village, INC. in 1976 in Fallsburg, NY. She moved to her home in Cochecton in 1998. Sarah had been a long time member of Sullivan County ARC and most recently attended a Day Care at Roscoe Adult Day Program. Sarah had many siblings, but her closet contacts in the last few years were with her sisters, Ann Steffens, from Amityville, NY and Betty Mayer, S. Liberty, Maine. Visitation will be at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 for friends and family on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00am. There will be a Mass of Christian burial at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Route 42 Woodbourne, NY at 1:00 pm. Sarah passed away under hospice care at home with her loved ones by her side, so the family is requesting that all contributions in Sarah's name be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
