Obituary of Robert Kruckmeyer
Robert William ?Rowbear? Kruckmeyer Sr. of Loch Sheldrake passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 after a long term illness with his WFL-wife for life by his side. He was 62.
He was the son of the late John and Dorothy Huston Kruckmeyer born on March 2, 1949 in West New York, NJ.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served two tours during that war and received The Bronze Star Medal, The Purple Heat, The Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, 2nd Award, National defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal; with 3 Bronze service Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device (1960), Expert Badge with Auto Rifle, Bar and Machine Gun Bar, Sharpshooter Badge, and the Parachutist Badge.
He was a member of the HOG Chapter, and his Harley Davidson was great for wind therapy. Robert was a Jack of all trades and could do just about everything. He had a huge heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a mountain man who loved his firewood, gardening, beautiful flowers, and animals. Rowbear loved life and especially his family. They will miss him dearly and treasure his memory forever.
He leaves behind his loving wife and soul mate Nikki Kruckmeyer, his son Robert William Kruckmeyer II, his sibling Margaret Ghosio, Steven, Dorothy, William, and John Kruckmeyer, his mother and father-in-laws Geraldine and Delbert Rundle, brother and special friend Larry Roberts, a goddaughter, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the funeral home at 10:00am with Pastor Bob Kersten officiating. Interment will follow at the Sullivan County Veteran Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY with full military honors.
