Obituary of Florence Toohey

Florence V. Slater Toohey of Richmond, VA. formerly a long time resident of Woodbourne, NY passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011. She was 85. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Viola Slater. She was born on March 10, 1926 in Mauchester, PA. She was the widow of George N. Toohey. She was a retired housewife that made her home a warm and welcoming place for all to come and visit. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her. Florence leaves behind one daughter Patricia LaPolt and her husband Donald of Richmond, VA., five grandchildren Matthew LaPolt and his wife Patricia, Pamela VanHouten and her husband Mark of Richmond, VA., Charity Muzuruk of New York, Michael Toohey and his wife Erica of South Carolina, Brian Toohey and his wife Chrissie of New York, four great grandchildren Cortney Sawyer, Dakota and Luke VanHouten, Chloe LaPolt and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons George R. and William J. Toohey, two sisters Cora Stephenson, and Doris Haddock. Donations in Florence's name can be made to Hospice of Virginia, 1700 Bayberry Ct. Suit 300 Richmond, VA. 23226. Visitation will be on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 10-11:00AM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am at the funeral home on Monday. Interment will follow at the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, Grahamsville, NY.
