Obituary of Cody Thomas Burns

Cody Thomas Burns "597" of Monticello, NY sadly passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 15. He was the son of Tod and Lisa Antonetti Burns born on December 5, 1997 in Middletown, NY. He was currently a student at Monticello High School and was looking forward to 11th grade and getting his drivers licenses. He was a gentle loving boy that had a heart of gold. He was his father's best friend and his mother pride and joy. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, football, motocross, welding and boating. He always would lend a helping hand; he was a handyman in the making. He shared a special song with his mommy "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. He liked children and loved to spend his free time with his family and friends. He will truly be missed by everyone that knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory parents Lisa and Tod Burns, paternal grandmother Rosemary Burns, maternal grandmother Mary Ann Yangle, his maternal grandfather Vincent Antonetti and family, his uncle Robert Burns, aunts Mikki (Chris) Burns-Dumas and Traci (Todd) Burns-Thrasher, cousins Jennifer and Nicolle Burns, Daryl, Zofia Rose, Kasey, and Ty Thrasher, Maya, Christopher J. Dumas Jr., his God parents Brenda and JR. Cruz. He was predeceased by his great grandfather Thomas (Gabo) Antonetti, great-grandmother Sophie Kukas, grandfather Robert J. Burns Jr., and his great Aunt Mary Anne Wolf, his aunt Lisa Marie Burns and Anne "Nanie" Brawley. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 2-4:00 & & 7-9:00pm. A funeral service will be on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the funeral home at 11:00am. The family has requested NO flowers instead donations in Cody's name can be made to a memorial fund to Mr. & Mrs. Tod Burns.
