Obituary of Gustave Eklund

Gustave R. Eklund of Livingston Manor passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at home. He was 76. He was the son of the late Gustave and Mildred Hubbard Eklund, born on December 4, 1935 in Syracuse, NY. Since 1958 he worked at the Local 1249 before he retired. Gustave loved operating and working on all different kinds of equipment. He was a loving father, grandfather, companion and friend to all that knew and loved him. He will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved him. He leaves behind to cherish his memory is long time companion of 25 years, Janet C. Taggart; his daughters, Wendy Young and her husband, John of Hubert, NC, and Terry Robbins and her husband, Craig of Central Square, NY; his step children: Dawn Roser of Livingston Manor, Dora Kahns of Florida, Dan Taggart, and Dale Taggart, both of Livingston Manor; his grandchildren: Mandi, Aubrey and Taylor Young, Megan, Robert, Taylor, Corey, Victoria, Dillon, Hunter, William, and great granddaughter, Emma; one sister, Margaret Lucas of Pennellville, NY, and a host of friends. Visitation will be on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, 29 Pearl Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12759.
