Obituary of Alex Tacey

Alex Tacey of Monticello passed away on Monday, September 3, 2013 at home. He was 91. He was the son of the late William and Grace Tacey Soule born on May 25, 1922 in Swan Lake, NY. Alex has lived within the Sullivan ARC facilities for over 35 years and he worked in the Sheltered Workshop in his early years. Before coming to ARC he was adopted by his maternal grandparents Roney and Hattie; while he was with them he worked on the family farm. Alex loved to write and had great coordination as he loved anything plaid. He liked Hershey bars and coke soda. He enjoyed playing his ever favorite red harmonica endlessly. On his free time he enjoyed talking to his good friend Arnie Katz on the phone. Alex is survived by his extended family at Sullivan ARC whom will deeply miss him. Visitation will be on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788 from 1-2:00 pm. A funeral service will be on Friday, September 6, 2013, at 2:00 pm Rev. Bob Kersten will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodbourne Cemetery.
